Removed the carbs while waiting for my rebuild kit. Noticed that the low speed orifice screws are badly stripped. Looked like someone used a small screwdriver and now they look pretty tough to remove.

How do I get them out now? Or do I just leave them. This boat has had some neglect and I'm trying to redo everything I can and I really would like to fix this.

Jamie
Learning more every time I look at this motor!

Jamie, you and I are in the same boat (no pun intended) I would leave them alone just soak the carb and blow it out with air hose. I got mine out but there's nothing more you can do after that.

Hey fellas,

I rebuilt my carbs this year, but I started out without the right tools. I stripped out two of those jets real quick with the wrong screwdriver. I ended up drilling them out (VERY carfully) really just a small bit through the middle of the jet (so as not to foul the threads) The drill bit had enough bite to back the old jets out of the hole. I ordered the correct tool and new jets and proceded with carb rebuilt (just make sure you don't leave any filings!) Note to self: When the book says "Use correct size screwdriver or OMC special tool ..." Having 50 different screwdrivers does not mean you have the "correct" size! oops!
