Evinrude 2.5 troubles

I have a mid 80s Evinrude 2.5 that runs great till about half throttle than it cuts out and i have to prime it to keep it going. Is it the fuel pump? It starts right up and runs great but i cant really go too fast because it keeps dieing on me. Is it hard to rebuild the fuel pump or should I just put a new one on? I was surprised at how good this moved my 8 foot dighy. The engine sat for almost 8 years and we through it in a garbage can and it started right up, we couldnt belive it. I have no trouble with it exept the fuel problem.<br />Thanks<br />Chris

Could be fuel pump, Chris, if your engine has one.<br /><br />Could also be carburetor or fuel supply line from tank.<br /><br />Tell us a model number, so we know what we are talking about.

The carb is clean that was the first thing i did and it didnt help at all. I'll see if I can get a model number tommorow. <br />Chris
