Ok got a 1990 90hp V4 with the vro2 system on it. After a tuneup a few months ago(plugs, wires, filter, new fuel lines,) the engine ran great. the last few times i took it out it has slowly getting harder to start and will not rev up as high as it was. I changed fuel filter and installed new plugs. Still same problem. Finally after fishing for a few hours the other night it wouldnt start at all. Went to the back and started to pump the ball and it was squishy like it had alot of air in it. I pumped it a few times and it got hard. The engine started up after cranking for a moment and pumping the ball a few more times.( Fuel Starvation). As i started to take off, it started to die again . again pumping ball fixed it. drove about 10 minutes back to the dock and it did ok. Got home and checked the fuel lines for any leaks. none found. replaced the ball and hoses again. Problem persists. checked for vacum leaks on system all seemed to be ok. Checked the primer solenoid and it wouldnt squirt any gas unless the ball was pumped. I then disassembled the vro/fuel pump assembly and checked for tears in the diaphrams. none found on it. checked for blockages in hoses. all ok. best i can tell is this thing works off vacum and there is a hose going to a fitting on the side of the motor that they call a pulse limiter. i removed it to see if it had any blockage in it. none found. question, does this suppose to be like a one check valve or is it a reducer for the air flow? The engine will run fine if you hand pump the ball, but after runnning about 30 seconds starts to run out of fuel. Any suggestions would be helpful and thanks guys
