Key Switch Test?

1993 Evinrude 175HP spitfire series. It appears my key switch or neutral switch is bad. Key turns, buzzer beeps, choke works, but no crank. Is there a way to jump wires temporaraly to test switch?<br /><br />Thanks in advance,<br />TM

With the ignition on, jump the "B" or 'Batt' terminal on the keyswitch to the "S" terminal. If the solenoid clicks and the engine cranks, the keyswitch is bad.

Have you cleaned and tightened the battery terminals and the engine connection points for + and - ??? Is your safety switch lanyard attached securely? Common problems......
