Welcome!!

Who is "they"??

The compression should be even -- no more than 15 lbs different from high to low.

Re: JOHNSON 2001 COMPRESSION

Assuming it is a V6 looper, I think something around 110 - 115 is quite normal. Some of these motors run with "low compression" headgaskets, lowering compression to around 95 - 100. But as mentioned above, all 6 showing equal figures is more important, though numbers lower than 90 would worry me.

Re: JOHNSON 2001 COMPRESSION

THANK YOU FOR YOUR REPLY...JOHNSON/EVINRUDE/OMC COMPANY WILL NOT DISCLOSE TO OUR DEALER/CERTIFIED MECHANIC THE PROPER NEW COMPRESSIOS SPECS. BEWARE OF BUYING THIER MOTORS DUE TO THIER LACK OF CUSTOMER APPRRICIATION.

Re: JOHNSON 2001 COMPRESSION

Obviously youre talking about Bombardier but OMC didnt print that either. Thers way too many variables like gauges. Thats why they've always said to look for no more than a 15 lb variance.
