This motor is actually my Buddies but I have put some time in it so its eating at me. motor seems to start and idle fine but sometimes on acceleration it just bogs and stalls and we have to choke the dog out of it(to the point of holding my hand over the carb intake)The fuel bulb seems full at all times but it seems like its losing its prime somewhere. I have replaced all fuel lines, cleaned carb and jets, problem has to be simple but certainly isnt evident.<br />This was originally a gas-oil tank auto mix. For the last 10 years we have been using a normal tank and mixing our own. Is it possible fuel pump??

Anything is possible. You need to apply some basic trouble shooting measures. If you suspect the fuel pump then pressure test it to see if it is ok. Some times fuel pumps have mechanical problems that evade identification. Check the accuator to make sure the pump operates on the throw that is being provided. I had a boubht a swather real cheap because on side of the accuator pivot was loose allowing the arm to ****. Engine would run and then starve out.

I have the same problem with the same year and 30HP Evinrude. If I bump the electric choke two to three times just before moving the throttle up, the engine will catch and accelerate fully. Almost everything was gone over by a dealer. The tank and gas line replaced, the carb cleaned (but not disassembled); now I'm being told by another dealer that there is too much air being allowed in, and that I should try adjusting the choke. Did you find your problem? Does anyone know the procedure for choke adjustment? I believe it is an injector type choke.
