I have a few older evinrude motors that are missing lowerer units and cowlings. I'd like to part them out but all I have is serial numbers and no way of knowing what they are. How is it everyone uses serial and model #'s to identify motors? Do you have to have a model booklet or are there websites around that I can't find.
Thank you

Re: outboard identity

JohnnyRudes are identified from the model numbers, JW.

There are two systems. Some model numbers contain a year code, some have to be looked up.

If your engines have model ID plates on transom clamps or model numbers stamped into welch plugs on the blocks we can ID them. Otherwise you will need to compare to photos to come close.

Good luck. :)

I'm sorry Dunaruna. I tried e-mailing you but for some reason I kept getting messages saying your address doesn't exist. Mine is jwfish550@yahoo. Maybe you could still send those to me if you don't mind. THank You

I hope you didn't put the actual 'at' in the address. I use that instead of the '@' to stop spam crawlers.

You've got mail.

Aldo
