Motor Bogging Down @ 2000 r.p.m.

Hey im having trouble with my motor it's a 1995 johnson and it seems to be bogging down when i first put it into gear at about 2000 rpm's i can feel my way thru it and after it passes the 2000 mark im good to go it seems to act up only at that mark any ideas we be great thanks ....

How long does it stay bogged down? Does it gradually pick up rpm's? Does it sound like you have a "dead" miss at the 2000rpm mark? Please, more info would help us help you.

im sorry guys it is a 115 hp v4 90 degree. it's not a dead miss sometimes i can catch it sometimes it startes to bog and i have to pull back the throotle ? but other times i can feel my way thru it and once it gets pass 2000 mark its fine any ideas ?

I would verify sync and linc. You may have excessive advance before the high speed jets start feeding enough fuel. One or more jets may be fouled as well causing a similar problem. When were the carbs overhauled last? When was sync and linc verified last?

dont really know about the last time this was done linc & sync but is this tough to do by yourself i have the manual and why would the link & sync just go bad ?

It is more likely that fouled carbs are the issue. Sync and linc needs to be checked periodically as linkage wear points cause slop over time. If you don't remember last time carbs were rebuilt or if they were never done, I would start there. Has your WOT remained the same or have you lost some over time? Has fuel pump ever been touched?
