I have an extra carb link- operates the throttle butterfly. This rod is connected to the carb at the butterfly linkage- points to the rear of engine and the attachment point is 90deg. down angle. Ends up where the roller that contacts the mag. plate. Nothing there to hook it into. What belongs there? And does anyone have the thing I need, or a used carb reasonably prioced?
Thanks

Look for a plate on one of the transom brackets. There would be a model number there which I need to pinpoint the year to define what carburetor you have.

That linkage is no doubt one that pulls the throttle slightly when the choke is applied but carburetors vary in their design.

Check for a model number on a plate on the transom clamp.
I think you're missing the brass link between the roller-follower arm and the throttle link rod. Does this seem correct:

1958 Evinrude carburetor

Paul, that's close, but not quite what I have.I have the link form the roller to the throttle. I do not have the extra adjustment (blue knob in your picture). I find no model no., only a serial no of 15028-12421. The medallion on the hood says that it is a Golden Jubilee model.
Thanks fo your help

Ok, that's the 1959 model. I think Joe's correct (we posted simultaneously) and you're looking at a link that connects to the choke like what was used on later engines:
Like this one.
Or this one

On #2, it goes into the hole just to the right of the end of the linkage, on the throttle butterfly shaft end plate. That comes from a post where the fellow was looking for the part that holds the link in place.
