I have a 1990 evinrude 6hp and I have'nt gotten it running, yet, but I did have it run with a sprayed fuel mix. There is a rubber tube on the power head which water is coming. I was wondering if water is supposed to come from 2 places, the pee hole and power head. Any ideas?? Tks. marvxyz

Hey Marv.....you should have water from the pee hole anytime the engine is running. This is just an indicator that the water pump is working.

The rest of the water going through the power head goes out with the exhaust.

If water is coming from power head and not from pee hole, does this mean I have a problem?

Yeah....the pee hole is plugged....(most likely)...take a thin wire and run it up the tube (hope that don't get poofed....). That don't work, check the connection at the motor for being plugged. Have found a few with mud caked at the fitting.

Do you mean that the water is coming from inside the engine's cover? The water should be coming from at least two places. One is the pee hole, which should be towards the rear of the engine just below the cover, and the other is the exhaust.

I think I got it backwards, I thought the pee hole was the place where the exhaust comes out. There is water coming from the rubber tube on the power head. There doesn't sseem to be any water coming from the hole where the exhaust is coming from. Is that a problem?

At idle, especially with smaller motors, sometimes only a mist will come out. I have a little 4 hp where the mist is so fine that you have to put your hand in front of it for a few seconds to notice that water's even coming out.
