Looking for a source(s) for used outboard parts, specifically for the Evinrude/Johnsons. Anything located in Canada would be a bonus. I have read on these forums in the past about several places but for the life of me I can't remember the names. Any suggestions are most appreciated.

Good American sources:

tcoutboard.com
marinepartsoutlet.com
stuartfla.com
(there's a hundred others. Google "used outboard parts")

Stone & sons marine (outboard-parts.com) are a good source too, especially for NOS rebuild parts.

Canada:
sports-marins-bf.com (these guys have had supplied me with unobtainium)

Try to locate your local outboard boneyard though. They always have the best prices, especially when you walk in with a "take-it-or-leave-it" attitude. I always show up in derilict cloths, tools in the car, and a personal liability disclaimer in hand. :) Usually that gets me what I need. :)

EBay is great too, just as long as you're careful. What parts are you after?

Re: Used parts suppliers

Thanks Paul for the sources. Can't seem to locate anything in my area at all. Talked with alot of people and nothing. Figured there must be someting. I live between two huge cottage and resort areas in Ontario with hundreds of marinas.

I am in the process of trying to buy the parts needed to convert a 1991 9.9HP Evinrude from rope start to electric start for my dad. Need the flywheel, bypass cover (includes starter mounting brkt), starter motor, neutral safety switch and bracket. Not interested in battery charging so I don't need the stator. Any leads come to mind ?

I know someone in the area who may know where to look. I'll email him and post back.

The best we could come up with was to try Peterbourgh Cycle and Salvage (705) 742-6120. Hopefully they have parts for you. You might try asking over at themarinedoctor.com too, he used to have a used parts guy. I'm not sure if he still does.

Thanks Paul, I did stumble across them on the internet and sent them an e-mail but have yet to receive a reply.
