98 Evinrude - Deaccelaratinng while in full throtle

My '98 Evinrude which was running great, all of the sudden when I was going full speed, and it throtled down by itself, while I still had the throtle wide open.. Any Suggestions ??

It ran out of gas, spark, or compresssion.

Nope, full tank of gas, lots of spark and compression. Someone mentioned that it may be the CDI Unit... I think that what is wrong. But thanks for the suggestions.

I think I said something about spark. That CDI unit is what delivers the spark, but since you have lot's of spark. I would do what some one mentioned! replace the CDI.

Yep, $ 500.00 later, it was the CDI, oh well, it runs well now ! Thanks again for your advice.
