#1 piston blew hole twice in 15 times out new timing base new powerpacks any idea mechanic not returning phone calls

can ya post a pic of the piston?<br /> blown pistons are a symptom of a problem not a problem. can be caused by over advanced timing, late timing or most usually a lean air/fuel mix.<br /> also #1 is the highest and can run out of water if the cooling system is not correct.<br /> but usually a hole is caused by detonation. the causes of detonation are few and easy to find.

Check your spark plugs, are you running too hot plugs? I found a lot of info online doing google searches for plugs. I found some interesting info on www.ngksparkplugs.com under their tech section.

rod bolt hole in piston dead center about the size of a nickle boyh times blew with no warning at all this motor was a total rebuild when i bougt it then only one piston replaced 2nd time
