My local dealer wants 70 bucks for the lifting ring plus 39 bucks for "eyebolts"!
I haven't had any luck searching online for one.
Can I just screw in three eyebolts and lift it from them without causing any damage to the crankshaft?
I will make sure to balance the load between the three of them evenly.
Hi
when I swapped my 120's for new motors I just made up a flat lifting ring and bolted it to a spare 3/8 bolt hole tapped into the motor casting, not really sure what it was for but it never had a bolt in it from new
Thats a boss and hole thats part of the power steering set up on a V6 and V8 looper. They all use some common casting molds.

The best way is to use a lifting ring thats bolted to the 3 holes in the flywheel. That lifts it up straight and centered. Lifting it off center on a bolt may cause it to shear off.
Don't know whether its right or wrong but I have lifted a bunch of big motors by pulling the starter off and attaching a chain to a starter bolt and a head bolt on the diagonal side. Hook the chain in the center and lift.
Thanks for all the input guys.
I am going to make a "lifting ring" out of an old flywheel puller I have.
I will bolt it to the three holes in the flywheel and use a heavy eyebolt thru the center of the puller, where the "drive bolt" usaully goes.
