How do I replace the handle that you crank down to hang engine on transom? Does that pin drive out and you gotta get a new one? I have old engines I can take it off from but the pin looks to be rounded on ends. Gotta drill it out or what?
Re: How to replace broken transom screw down handle?
Usually those types of pins can be tapped out with a hammer and punch. just make sure you use a punch or rod that is the same diameter of the hole. You dont want it to get wedged inside the pin.

This is if you are refering to the hollow pins.

If its a solid pin, you may have to drill the tip off, then tap it out.

I think I need to drill them out because they look solid and are rounded over on each end, I just hope they are not stainless cuz that's so hard to drill.
