RD23 is a 1961 40HP, a "Bigtwin" in our jargon. There are good carb kits for reasonable price ($13) and shipping here on iBoats. Click the "Marine Mega Mall" link at the top of this page, follow the links for engine parts, fuel system, Johnson Carb kits, and you'll arrive here:
http://www.iboats.com/mall/partfind...gd_poid=109328&gd_row=44&**********=105014187
These are Sierra after-market kits and are fine. HOWEVER - if you have an original motor that has never had the carb rebuilt you have an original cork-style float inside. These degrade over time and the Sierra kits do not include a replacement modern float. OMC (now BRP or BMC) factory kits do. There's another online retailer called iShopMarine that carries the factory replacements. Prices are higher and shipping can be Sloww (at least has been for me at times) but a new float is a good idea. You'll have to check both these retailers to see if they ship to Australia. If no luck, try using the "edit" feature on you post and add the words "in Austrailia" to your title. There are a couple Bigtwin owners from Austrailia on the board.

I've called a few marine shops up here in Brisbane, the cost is around $100.00 for the full kit here in Australia, assuming they have in stock, if they don't, you'll probably be told it's a 6 week delivery and they need a deposit before they will order it.

If you can, try and order one online from the States, after you pay for shipping and take into account the current exchange rate, you will probably save a few dollars, and the parts shouldbe here in about 1 - 2 weeks.
