Re: One more try

If your trying to help just answer the first question --and only IF you can You guys brought all this on not me. BTW I called Bombardier and they do have a rebuild kit for that motor. I talked to a tech online and he told me that. I just should have gone there first and not put it out to a bunch of yahoos. Someone took the first shot at me by accusing me of throwing money at a problem and telling me to (buy the manual).Well excuse me for asking first. Asking a question is not exactly throwing money. That came from other research from other people on this forum who told me it can be nothing else but the pump. Grow up Case closed No need to reply

Re: One more try

Boatwad, if I gave you wrong info on the pump, I do apologize for that. The last time I tried getting a rebuild kit for a pump, the numbers superceded to the whole pump which means the kits aren't available from BRP any longer. If that makes me a "yahoo"....OK....I'm a yahoo.

Re: One more try

I don't believe the rebuild kits contain any parts for rebuilding the oil half of the VRO/OMS if it makes any difference.A common failure of the VRO pumps were failed seal between fuel and oil half causing oil rich(smoky)initial startup.

Re: One more try

Just did a search for his previous thread on the same engine. Seems the engine was surging at around 3500rpms but would take off if the primer bulb was squeezed. He also asked about the rebuild kit there also. Didn't see anywhere in those posts, on this forum at least, where anyone said it could only be the pump. Here's the link if anyone is interested.

http://forums.iboats.com/cgi-bin/ubb/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=28;t=039074#000000

Re: One more try

Thanks for the link OBJ.I would be surprised if that late model had a failing OMS pump already but ,who knows.Don't know what kind of hours are on it.I do know ,that if the engine picks up when squeezing the fuel primer ball that a failing fuel pump is but one of the posibilities.A fuel leak upstream of the pump inlet can produce the same symptom. Also a leaking pulse hose or faulty limiter.

Yup, I read that one first then responded to this one, didn't care much for the attitude in that one, guess it didn't improve with time

He doesn't seem to be having much trouble getting responses in this one though :D

While he didnt have problems getting answers on ths post, i imagine that not to many of them helped answer his question. Though i suppose that perhaps he may have learned how to get answers from everyone through the dealings on this post. If he uses it that's another question. At least it gave all of us somthing to do this evening.

Good brain exercise if nothing else.Any one else know of any other posibilities that pumping the primer ball while underway would rectify? :D

I can think of 2 without trying very hard. A leak in the pulse hose and too small supply hose.

Pulse hose and limiter have already been chosen Walker. :D But the too small of fuel line gets full credit. :D
