special tool?

do i need any special tools to work on a mid 80 v4 115 evin. or will regular auto tools be enuff. thanks

Your owner’s manual should tell you what special tools would be needed for specific jobs, but as for wrenches and screwdrivers etc.. What specifically are you working on?

I guess it depends on what you mean by "work on". <br /><br />For the most part, I find that things can be accomplished with your typical auto tools. Decent socket set, a variety of screw drivers and a couple of torque wrenches (foot pound and inch pound) are typically all I ever seem to need.<br /><br />Cheers,<br /><br />Brew

a guy i work with has asked me to work on his 115 evin., i have not worked on one of these. i know the i6 merc takes special ring comps and seal tools, just was wondering if it is the same for all outboards.<br />thanks

better have some 6 point sockets to get off those corroded bolt heads...maybe that's just me thinking salt water.... Harvey
