hi just found your site.i been doing a search and have come up with a few?. first the engine is a 82 35hp evinrude. ihad head gasket problem last year so i did a rebuild.everything was fine till last night i was fishing and the motor kept dying .do this morning i checked the plugs and the bottom one was grey first i draind the gas thought i could have gotten water in the tank. then i fired it up with the muffs attached and ran for about ten min.then i puled the head the lower cylinder was all grey and milky the top one was not as bad the head gasket had a hole right in the center between the to rings that seal the combustion chamber? the hole was not all the way through just the matriel was off on top and bottom exposing the alluminum. the head and block are flat.i read aboput another gasket that can let water in. i guess muy qustion is why would the head gasket blow again and howw can i stop it. thanks alot for all hep i really need it impuling my hair out. jared

Re: water leak ?

First! Check for flatness with a known good straight edge. Make sure the head, and block surface are both clean. Use proper torgue, and tightening order. Check engine temp.

Re: water leak ?

The exhaust cover gasket/s could indeed be culprit.
