1986 Johnson 40

I am looking to repower so I don't have to run my current motor so hard. I make about 30mph with 1000lb load at wot. I would like to repower with a 60 but I'm unsure of my current weight. Draft isn't a huge issue, I can get in about 6".<br /><br />So any one with one of these know its weight, the motor doesn't have power tilt or trim. I'm looking at a Johnson 4stroke or Yamaha f60. <br /><br />ANY ADVICE?

The weight of the 86' Johnson 40hp is around 190#.The weight of the Yamaha F60 is around 237#.What is the horsepower rating of the boat?

OB, sorry have been out of pocket haven't been able to reply. I built the boat from a set of Bateau.com plans, the OB15 is rated for 50hp but I over built the boat, larger stringers, more laminations, thicker wood. Total boat weight loaded with me in it is 1000lbs as stated above.<br /><br />
