I'm sure its been asked, but what is the best lube to use for my gear case oil??? Are the newwer synthetic oils OK/good/best/not needed/bad for the older gearcases???
Would I have to flush the old oil out with something if switching???
If staying with petrolium based lube>> what oil should I use >>90w hypoid, 80w/90? \
AND what is the proper amount to add??? I know that you fill from the bottom until it comes out the top plug hole, but how much does it take??? I don't remember how many tubes to buy.
Gettin' forgetfull lately.

Bombardier has come out with a new outboard lower unit oil this year. Called XPR. It replaces their "ultra" which was their premium lower unit oil for many years. Has some synthetic in it. Get a quart.

if you have electric shift, stay with the mfg recommended oil.
