i need the year and model #

i just bought a boat with a 150 johnson,i need the model# and year, the man that owned it thought it was a 1985, but the model # was messed up by a impact gun when they installed the jackplate, i think the serial # is J6127183, any help would be great

most motors also have the model number on a welch plug near the heads probably towards the back, it should read J150 then some other letters and the last few will tell the year.
