Headed down river to the ocean Sunday with the GF. 1000+ boats on the river stirring things up, but all in all a good cruise. Had fun watching the Fish Cops chase waking boats and jet skis around. Monday the 4th was on the river at 5:30 am with my fishing buddy. Caught both tide changes and a couple dozen stripers. Laughed as my buddy ogled all the local talent as they went passed with a pair of glasses.

Went to Bald Eagle Lake, here in MN, on Saturday morning with my brother-in-law who was here for the weekend.

We launched at 7AM, and fished 'til noon. Caught some Northerns, a few crappie, and a few small largemouths.

The lake started getting busy about 9 AM, and there was a Hobie Cat regatta around 11 AM. All the same, a little careful boating, and we managed to have a very good time.

Re: How are you using your boat this 4th of July weekend

I spent all day Saturday finishing the rebuild of my boat's internals - finished the carpeting, added seats, rigged the motor, finished the wiring for lights & bilge, and finally launched it around 6:00 Saturday night. Took it to the fireworks over Clayton on Sunday night and spent most of Monday the Fourth on the River, alternately swimming, cruising, sunning, etc. Burned through almost 12 gallons on the weekend.... Whoo-hoooo!!

- Scott

Went to lake, got drunk, acted a fool, got in fight at launch and only destroyed one prop. Happy Fourth of July.
