Engine has the problem only at the specific speed I want to troll. Runs great at lower or higher speeds. No tach, but about 2 1/2 mph is where I troll. At that throttle speed RPMs goes up and down by itself. If I have to give a slight throttle adjustment to correct speed for wind it either kills or hesitates and jumps RPMs to high.

When it kills,if I put in neutral at the same throttle speed it starts up easily, but when put in gear it dies. If left in gear after it kills and not touching throttle it is hard to start.

I have a lot of hours trolling at this speed on engine and feel something is worn out controlling speed.

Pumping water good, changed gas line and tank, changed plugs, and can't find problem.

Thanks for the response!

The carb has never been worked on, as it hasn't been needed. I know some on outboards, more on cars and tractors.

I've never experienced a carb problem at a specific speed only. Not to old to learn! I have used sea foam type products and carb cleaners very occasionally to keep system clean.
Very careful to add gas stabilizer, and use only non-ethonol gas.

I'm 99% sure it is not a gas problem. Right after it killed, I pulled plugs and both were wet. I changed plugs and it didn't help.
