I recently took off the VRO pump and both carbs. I am looking to disconect the VRO pump entirely from this point forward. I was wondering is the feul pump part of the VRO pump? I was looking around the motor and did not see the typical pump. This leads me to my next question. Can I install a typical fuel pump in its place?
link:

Sorry hermit....to links to iboats competitors.

If so where would you mount it?
Help is needed....so many of the hoses to the VRO pump are busted and damaged I am debating if I need to put humpdy dumpdy back together again.

The fuel pump you will need is PN438556. It will mount on the port side of the engine....look for two screw holes with a plug screw in between...bout mid way up on the block. You will also need a plug to plug up the hole the pulse limiter was connected to. A brass pipe plug will do. A length of hose from the fuel pump outlet to the carb fuel manifold will get you fuel to the carbs.

Mod 2....oops sorry!

OBJ, Thats good news. I did a little more research on this and it looks feasable. Is it the way to go or should I try running the VRO fuel pump? My gut tells me go new!
