Have a late 70s Evinrude 35 hp that has been missing the zink anode for years. My problem is that I don't know where it is supposed to be placed.<br /><br />Anyone have any tips? Please find pictures at this web site <br /><br />/Tom
<br /><br />You only need them in fresh water if the motor is left in the water, but in saltwater they're a must. If you trailer your boat or put it on a hoist, you probably don't need one. It mounts to the Top of the anti-ventilation plate above the water pump intake holes.
