Hi,

I have a 16 foot tri-hull boat in good condition. I was wondering what would be the biggest outboard I could throw on it?

I also would like to know how fast a boat of this type would go with an 80 hp mercury.

Thanks

John

Somewhere inside your boat should be a permanently mounted plate containing the maximum person capacity, maximum horsepower rating etc... Personally, I wouldn't exceed the max. horsepower rating. Just guessing, I'd say an 80 hp would push it along somewhere between 33 - 38 mph??
