Hi all -

I am somewhat new to boats and would like to know if there are any easy/cheap ways to add a some more HP or speed to my outboard. I have an '85 115 HP mercury on a '76 Glastron-Carlson CV16. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Re: More Power for my Outboard?

Thats a good question. Just trying to start getting into boats and don't really know. I probably need to buy a tool to determine it or have someone at the marina do it, right? But, in general how much difference in top end speed could a prop make? The fellow I bought the boat from said the current prop is for more for acceleration(he did a lot of wake boarding). He did upgrade to a stainless steel prop though. But would it be possible to know the approx MPH gain I would get from changing to a speed oriented prop?
