Any tips on getting 300# mother-in-law  and others in and out of the boat, have a small aluminum boat for shuttle-- but its a pain, the boat is moored in 3' of water..................... :)

Why would you want too?
That's the baffling question.

Through her 300# on a tube and let her tube all day. ;) :p Use a shepherd hook style ladder for everyone else if you have a place to hang it from.
Good Luck

OH MY GOD! LOL! Tell her she'll exceed the weight limit of the boat like an elevator :p

On second thought, why make consessions for someone you don't really want on the boat anyway.....

Since the cruiser is moored in only 3 feet of water, perhaps could sink it to bottom, transfer mother-in-law, turn on bilge pump to refloat. Or perhaps mount in the cruiser a crane like that which is used to lift wheelchair bound people into and out of bed.

Rent a helicopter? :p :D

Seriously, though, are there any landings with a cortesy dock nearby? Have someone drive her there in a vehicle and meet them there with the boat. That's the only solution I can see.

I think sangerwaker has the best plan. Lots of potential for humor here, but that's pretty irrelevant. You have a MIL who you want to get on the boat. Climbing in from your little dinghy isn't safe, so the courtesy dock is the answer.

There's gotta be a launch there, right? Or a marina?

I would make her swim to the boat if she really wantsto go out in it. She won't be 300# for long with all that swimming!

Tell her she can't go, then tell her a joke to cheer her up. Here's one: " My mother-in-law is so fat, they had to put speed bumps in the buffet line at Golden Corral so the cooks could keep up with her".

Thats a tough one.

People of that weight often don't have the strength or agility to handle unstable climbing situations. Even if you can find a dock, you will almost need a set of stairs.

Perhaps a slightly larger jon boat as a shuttle dinghy, maybe a 16'.
