Re: 2001 Mercury bogging

I don't think any engine should bog on acceleration. What size of boat do you have it on? Take it back to the dealer if you feel unsatisfied. I have a Suzuki 70hp 4 stroke that is extreemly responsive. Mine has EFI. Does yours have carbs? I know that mercs are now EFI in the 50-60 range.

Re: 2001 Mercury bogging

Thanks for the response. From day one This a night mare story ( 2001 40hp 4 stroke carb )
the dealer tried to fix it four times , they basically rebuilt the motor ,then super man from Mercury came and he couldn't fix it .HE says I am not to accellerate quickly ( as in skiing ) he
said that there is nothing wrong with the motor,
that I have to accellerate slowly . Anyway I have demanded a new motor but am still running into problems with Mercury Head office .My lawyer is on it . Great advertising for Mercury EH ??
