Here is a picture of a mercury prop that came off a motor that is long gone. I went to throw it out and realized that it's not in too bad of shape. I did see the the round thing in the middle was puched off to one side. Could I mount this prop on a motor without haveing prolbems?
What caused the prop the get like this?

Thanks,
11

No need to be smart.Last I checked outboard forums don't discuss picture posting instructions.I was actually trying to help as the instructions are a bit involved.Good Luck.

Re: Prop: keep it or juck it?

RyanT, From the picture on Sloops link it looks to me as if that prop is very salvagable.Looks like it needs a new hub and notwithstanding what looks to be some minor nicking on leading edges I'm guessing a decent prop shop can make it good as new. :)

ob and sloopy, thanks for the help. I've neaver had a prop fixed before. I'll have to look around and see were it can be done. I don't want to spend a whole lot of money to get it fixed because the same prop is only 80 bucks new.

Thanks for the help, this is a grean fourm.

11
