I bought a power boat with an KIEKHAEFER 1964 Mercury 85HP Serial no: 1572580.The old owner told me that the motor takes water.I replaced the lower cap assembly with new seal and bearings and it runned well for about 10 hours. After that it got warmer and warmer and finaly overheated. It was smoke and steam that came out from exhaustion. Now I opened but I don't know what to do.DoI have to replace the propeler and all the gaskets?
Does it have a thermostat? Where should I look for it?
Any suggestion would be helpfull.Thank you.

Hi, Aditent.

You really need a manual, maybe two. A users manual and a repair manual.

Good luck. :)

This is not a reply. I am unable to make a new post, so will try this way.
Where do you find the engine serial number so I can find out what year the motor is? Also how tough is it to replace the water pump?
Thanks
