Just wondering what year this might be. 90hp Serial No. 7163088 , Im guessing 1983-85?

That's a Canadian ser no.<br />Reckon you are close..<br />Blue bands or other colour ??

Yes, It does have a blue band running around the cowl. No distributor, but it has choke plates.

Go to the wiring diagrams at the back and look closely for a small chart which says someting like USA 533* Aust 806*<br />Canada 7* Belguim 9*<br />This gives you an idea what the relationship is between the different countries numbers<br />Mine is @ 1981-2 <br />Blue bands became brown bands in 1985.<br />1978 motors were called 500's <br />1981 had silver "Merury" on blue background<br />1982 had white "Mercury" on blue background
