Spark Plugs????

I am having problems starting my 91 25hp Merc. I took the plugs out and the have alot of black on the ends. There was also oil coming out of the metal near the ceramic portion of the plug. Am I mixing the oil to rich??? Im mixing a 50:1 also what are the best plugs to use for this motor.<br />Thanks

Scott-the electronic parts catalog for Merc specs out 5 different plugs you can run...all of them are NGK brand...BU8H..BUZHW...BUZHW-2...BP8HN-10...BPZ8HN-10....oil on a plug is either wrong mix or bad firing of the plug
