prop??????

I have a 16ft fiberglass boat with a 90hp mercury installed a 19 pitch prop now sounds like slippage just wants to rev when go full throttle can anyone help me

ther2525,<br /><br />there is a rubber hub in your prop that acts like a "clutch" when you hit a rock the rubber hub will spin while your prop stays still on the rock. when this happens frequently your hub will start to wear out and just normal engine drive will cause the hub to slip. so you should replace the prop or the rubber hub hope this helps

It is a new one and there is some slippage

Try a different prop, or take it to a prop shop for testing, or test it yourself by scribing a line across the hub and prop housing, then running it for a few hole shots, then check to see if line is still lined up.<br /><br />New or not, it could still be spun.

Mostly from reading what the veterans here have been posting, or from remembering what I have seen done in the real world.<br /><br />Truthfully, I have very few good ideas of my own.
