carb flooded

HEY GUYS! Engine: 1965 110HP Mercury Outboard / Problem: One of the three carburator shoots most of the gas from a hole located on it's side when pumping gas into it and I can't get it to start! what can i do?

You will need to replace the needle and seat and possibly the float. I would recommend doing all 3 carbs.<br /><br />TMD

Thanks for your advice, i will take the carbs apart and replace the needles and floaters! <br />what's a good compression on this 1965 1100 110hp mercury outboard?

You were right! i replaced all the floats and needles caused they were pretty bad! but it wont start still. I think the firing order is off or the timing? what's the firing order on this 1965 1110 six 110 HP Mercury outboard? thank's guys! <br />I think im getting somewhere now!

1 4 5 2 3 6<---That is the newer inline 6 product firing order, I expect the old ones are the same.<br /><br />You will need a manual to set the timing correctly.<br /><br />TMD

Make sure the jet adjusting screws are set right especially if replaced needle and floats.<br /> I had done that little job on mine and didnt even readjust my screws, tought I should leave it alone, boy was I wrong. <br /> If havnt done so, need some advise?
