repair or replace lower unit

[broke skeg]

I ground the skeg completely off of my Mariner 25 hp when it slid back on the trailer. I don't know how far I drug it down the road but it had to be a long way. The gear box is intact but I don't have a skeg left to weld to. Is there any way to repair it.

hello<br /> a good welder can fix it<br /> mine was broken off (120 omc) when the previous owner and friend owned it. he happens to be a welder. we used a copper template and built it up. if you keep the unit tilted up and filled with ice it wont even burn the oil.<br /> but it will run ok with no skeg. just watch the prop does not hit bottom.<br /> good luck and keep posting

A prop shop or a good welder can fix you right up........ dumba$$ (I did it once too. until people were honking at me. I guess you did not have anyone around to honk at you, EH).
