If anyone is interested...I have digital pictures of my process of tearing down and rebuilding 50hp merc 500 4cyl. I have done everything except for tearing apart the powerhead. From the lower unit up. Including carbs, dist, magneto, starter, wiring etc... just let me know by e-mail, or if the admin has a spot here on the page I think that it would be a great learning tool for those who are doing the same thing. That way when someone is trying to explain something or show a part they would know exactly what it is. I noticed that the pictures in the manual (Seloc) are not very clear or precise. So let me know all and I would be glad to help out.

I'm sure many of us would be interested. I have a 50-4cyl. You can load them up here www.myfishingpictures.com or similar site. Trick is, keep them small (low no of pixels) and you will get a higher number of pics.If you are e-mailling them, zip them up and keep the .zip file to a couple of meg as most web based e-mails only allow 5MB max. <br /><br />Thanks...

Pics sound like a great idea. Is that a 2 stroke or 4 stroke engine?

I would love to have the pic's! I have a '72(?) 50hp 4cyl. (s.n.3241205) that is not on my boat, and I need to rebuild it. I have never gotten inside an outboard, only smallblock chevy's. I think your pic's would be a very valuable tool. My email adderss is: dmike25@msn.com Thanx, Mike

ok...sorry everyone about the long reply. I am not collecting e-mail addresses. Just with the X-mas season I have been very busy with visiting and all.
