Re: Thru Hull Exhaust....where to get....what to get
I have a Stringer 800 series. Anyone ever attempted to run thru-exhaust on a Stringer? My concern is that the motor and the drive all move as one when using the trim. The other thing is my manifolds are the types where the risers attach at the back of the manifold. The other thing is, will I need new risers as my risers angle down at about 45 degrees?

Riser....

Manifold.....

Looks like I will need a lot on ingenuity to make it work with what I have. I was thinking if I get a set of these risers (see below) I could use rubber exhaust hose and just run it to SS tips out the back. I would think the rubber exhaust hose could handle the flexibility of the engine and drive going up and down while trimming the boat.

Not sure if these will fit. Looks like they use bolts that go through the top of the riser. Mine bolt on at the bottom of the riser. My plan is to go under the swim deck just above the water line and to use tips with internal flappers to prevent water from getting into the system. Also, I would think this would give it a good sound without it being real loud. I would think going above the swim deck like Ralph, would be pretty loud without mufflers. I would use mufflers but dont think I have enough room for them. Going above the swim deck would be a lot easier. Ralph, how loud is your boat? I realize you have dual engines but is the sound overwhelming? I mean, can you still carry on a conversation?

Any thoughts?
