What size Smart Tabs for my boat?

I just got a new boat. Haven't had a chance to put it in the water yet, but I'm sure Smart Tabs would help its performance and ability to plane. The boat is a 1983 2200 (22') Tiara Pursuit cuddy cabin. It has a 86' 225 Evinrude on an old Gil pipe transom bracket. There is alot of weight in the rear of the boat, but I know it is a fast hull. The previous owner put a foil on the lower unit to help with planing, but from all I've read here seems like Smart Tabs would be more useful. Many Thanks, Nick.

Contact NautiJohn at Nautilous, sounds like you need the Smart 80's and they are great.

Nick;

Use the ST1290-80 as Txswinner was suggesting. The foil must come off when you use the Smart Tabs. Don't worry you will not need the foil.

Please let us know how they work out for your.

Re: What size Smart Tabs for my boat?

I'll probably run the boat as is for awhile and see how it goes without tabs. Then if I'm not satisfied, get some tabs. I sure would be glad to not deal with running more wires and lines to a pump for trim tabs. On a side note, my brother in law has a late 70's 25' Mako center console with a 225 2 stroke outboard. He has a very noticeable rolling problem. What size tabs should he consider? Thanks.

"Smart Tabs" do not require wires, pumps, or hoses. Essentially, you bolt them on and go. You can adjust them to suit your boat easily.

yeah, I know they don't require anything. But regular trim tabs do, and that was what I was talking about. I'm going to run the boat without anything, then make the decision on smart tabs.
