Any one with a simular engine ... When I bought this the engine face plate was laying in the transom well. The latches were gone on the engine. I went to merc and ordered the parts things were ok till I snapped the face plate on and then could not reach the spring loaded release. I am not sure if I am missing more of the latch or what ...I did finally get the face off by prying the top down .. If I install half of the engine cover and look at how things fit I find a small rectangle somewhat below the latch on the engine .. but impossible to reach a finger up there and trip the spring loaded latch.. What did Merc have in mind? I cant figgure this one out !!
