Alright this is a 1982 L6 90horse with the comander control box.

I searched a bit but couldnt find this one.
When starting the motor I simotanously touched the little bit of crome on the throttle lever and the window frame and got a nice little jolt, like from a spark plug??
I looked at my wiring diagram but couldnt see right off where ignition voltage could come back to there from.
Anyone got any thoughts on this? Oh it only happens when I ground myself to the window frame.

Re: shock from control box!!

so in another post I was reading that the black/yellow wire going to the mercury switch was grounded wrong on someone elses motor causing this problem. I dont think my wiring harness has been tampered with. I have not checked internals of control box yet. I did however unhook the mercury switch (black/yellow) and I no longer got shocked but when I tried to shut it off, it would not turn off using the key. is this normal?
