Hello!

I used the search-option but did not find an answer.

I am afraid my question is a really stupid one, anyway I need your help:

I just bought a boat with a 1975 Merc 402, drove a round on the water (worked fine), went home with the boat on the trailer and wanted at home to tilt up the engine.

But I did not find a release button or so to release the "tilt bracket" (I dont know the proper word) - (At my Mariner 20HP there such a "tilt bracket releaser" just close to the Stop Button, you press it down, and then you may tilt the engine to the "prop out of the water - position".

No such thing on the 402! Help me stupid guy, but how do I tilt this engine??

(No power trim or electrical/hydraulic tilt aid, simply all mechanical)

Thanks for your help
Andreas (from Austria/Europe)
