Intermittent alarm

70 Merc 3 Cyl serial # 0A739874<br /><br />The alarm seems to be malfunctioning on my boat. It beeps on and off a couple of times, or maybe stays on for a minute or so. The oil in the resevoir is being used and the water coming out of the block is cool. The engine and leg are also cool even after 1/2 hour at WOT. <br />I started wiggling the throttle lever and when I pryed it slightly toward the drivers seat the alarm stopped. It then seemed to work fine the rest of the day, only going on when the ignition is on.<br />Any ideas?<br /><br />Thanks,<br />Grant Brown

Grant,<br /><br />You could have a chaffed wire in the control box. Not unheard of.<br /><br />Chris...........
