I took hold of a 1974 50HP Mercury with an electric tilt system on it. The motor is in great shape, however the tilt system isn't working and overall it looks to be in bad shape. I'd really like to just remove the system and just manually tilt the motor up and down. I am curious what is involved in doing this? I'm hoping it's not to big of an ordeal. Thanks for your help.

You should be able to remove it all. But you need to be sure the pin is in the mount to keep the motor from being trimmed down to far. Most mount have several sets of holes for the pin. Try each set until you get it where it performs best.

Bolt;HI,I re-converted my 75-850 back to manual a few years ago.the most important item was the removal of the hydrolic pistons and replaced with the original type shocks.hydrolic (the ones you have on now)will not work!!! See if you can get an after market shock for that eng.. Good luck

Hello All,

Does the Auto Tilt Trim Motor have a tilt-up lock like the manual one's do?

I've got some tabs on my inline 6 90hp but they don't seem to do anything.

I guess what I'm asking is, Do you need to do anything else to convert from auto tilt-trim to manual other that just swap shocks?
