No water comes out of the pee hole; what are the possible problems? 1984 Mercury 90 HP, 6 cylinder

Water pump, water inlets could be plugged, hoses blocked, Just start tracing from the weep hole down.

Make sure the pee hol;e is not stopped up.

If in doubt the first diagnostic route is a common service which should include not least an impeller that does not cost the earth..<br /><br />Beast of luck keep us posted..Keith B..

Farmtruck, Put a flush device on the motor and start it up. If water comes out of the gratings above the prop. the pump is working. If so, stick a wire up the teltale (pee hole) to see if you can unclog it. Also, the water from the gratings should be no more than lukewarm while running on the flusher. If you do not get water within 30 seconds of starting the motor, or if it is substantially hotter than lukewarm, you likely have a water pump problem.

Are you running your motor on the muffs or in the water? My 1963 100hp barely weeped out of the pee hole when on the muffs, but lots of water out the prop. On the water, I had a very strong pee stream.

You may just have too much water going into the muffs, try turing it down a bit. I just replaced my impeller and read that in the manual.<br /><br />Hope that helps.

try blowing out the pee hole with an air compressor. My 15 hp Johnson had same thing on start up this year. Blew it out and everything is fine. I got a nice stream now.
