1976 1150merc 115hp inline 6
1986 bonito 16' center console

i am using a red , plastic style gas tank, with a EVINRUDE fitting on the tank, connected to the grey fuel hose, then to the bulb, then to an inline , clear filter, then strait to the fuel pump, no more connections at the motor.

the bulb and line are new, but keep going flat.

i disconnected the EVINRUDE style connector at the tank and ran the line straight into the tank and problem solved.

do these motors really use THAT MUCH fuel that it squashes the bulb flat?

motor is fairly new to me. thanks

I would think you need to vent your tank.

No...they don't suck that much fuel. Something is wrong. What I don't know, but that isn't supposed to happen.

Try another bulb. It's not unusual to get a bad one.

yes, i bought some brass fittings from hardware store and now it goes DIRECTLY into the tank, with no lil "quick disconnect" fittings/.

directky bolted from tank to fuelpump. also lessens the chance of "sucking air" and blowing motor

thanks guys
