How can i tell what gear ratio i have?<br />the pinion gear has 14 teeth and the forward gear has 25 teeth. Black Max v6 150hp 89 modle<br />How do I determine the shft length?
Gear ratio is 25/14 = 1.78.<br /><br />Shaft length is the distance from the top of the transom (where the engine mounts up) to the bottom of the boat. Look for lengths that are units of 5", like 20" or 25".<br /><br />Chris.............
Bottom of the engine mounting bracket (where the motor rests on the top of the transom) to the top of the cavitation plate is how the shaft length is measured for the motor.
