Hello

The other day I was out on my boat all afternoon. Everything was going fine. Just before arriving back to the marina I decided to give her a good run. (Outboard 100 hp)

Here is what happened...............

When I pushed the trottle she accelerated normally. A few seconds after she would die out. Motor still running. I did this about three times. Then I noticed the fast idle bar was lifted abit. Could that have been the problem?
At this point I was near my dock so I just went straight to it.
Thanks for your help

I don't think the fast idle would cause this problem. Usually if the fast idle is lifted you will not be able to put the motor in gearbut that may not be the case in your instance. Your problem seems symptomatic of a fuel / carburation.
Check the tank vent is open and working, check that the fuel bulb remains firm by pumping it when the fault condition exists. If pumping the bulb cures the problem then it is down to the fuel line/ tank or the engines fuel pump. Check it out and let us know how you get on.

Good Luck

I'll be going on friday so I'll check out the fuel line. Hopefully it's something minor like that.
I'll let you know for sure.

Thanks for the reply. :D
