Re: What's Up With All the Bayliner Bashing??
So let me understand this. If it's a Grady with a rotten transom (known problem) or a Parker with a rotting deck (known problem) or one of the myriad of other brands with their problems we should bash them, correct? That certainly doesn't seem to be the case.

Bayliner bashing is fun for a lot of people. It justifies the reason they spent a lot of money. A Grady Adventure 208 setup like my Trophy costs $20K more. I'll keep the $20K, invest it and when it comes time to sell I won't care what I get cause I'll have the full price in my hand already, thank you. Yes, the fit and finish appears better on the Grady. Only time will tell if it will last longer. I only had one problem with her this whole first season...a missing clip to secure the bottom of the back curtain.

I've no complaint with my ride in the rough stuff. On top of that $20K gives me a lot of goodies for the boat as well as a lifetime of fuel (though the oil companies are trying to take that one away - lol).

Bash away folks and keep the prices low. But Bayliner still sells more boats than most manufacturers. They put a lot of people on the water at a reasonable price who would not be able to enjoy the water otherwise. They serve their purpose. Yes, the small, entry level boats are just that. The larger boats are much better made. But a nice, young family of four looking to get on the water without risking the new house will not find a better value.Originally posted by crazy charlie:

...Greg ,if you owned the boat WHEN it need a new transom, you may be Bayliner bashing right now..??...
